Social and Cultural Anthropology

While only one of our experts (Frans de Waal) is formally a professor of anthropology, Ideas Roasdshow’s IBDP resources in social and cultural anthropology highlight many aspects of the field from a variety of different perspectives, from linguist Carol Padden’s field work studying the development of new Bedouin sign languages to Nile Green’s investigations on the plurality of the Muslim world.   Some resources could be used to help focus student interest in a specific topic for their reflection exercises or fieldwork, while numerous particular themes are highlighted for a potential extended essay in psychology in both Ideas Roadshow’s EE Guide and Extending Ideas in Social and Cultural Anthropology video.

For a 1-minute overview please watch the video below (and for a general introduction to Ideas Roadshow’s IBDP Portal, visit the homepage).
